Special Service Club Spotlight

Salem Area Amateur Radio Association

ARRL Affiliated Clubs · Special Service Club Spotlight

[Salem, Ohio] Organized for the promotion of Amateur Radio interest in communication and experimentation, we are very proud of the Salem Area Amateur Radio Association. Our SKYWARN activities provide a large, well trained nucleus of communicators ready to help in case of disasters, emergencies, and for any public service event in our community.

Members of the Salem Area Amateur Radio Association find time to provide coffee to weary travelers, all in the traditional good spirit of Amateur Radio. These types of club activities, over and above the normal stuff, are what makes this club a Special Service Club.

In addition to our many club events, including annual Amateur Radio classes, lots of public service events (parades, Walkathons, Band Festivals, Bike Races, etc.), our club boasts "The world’s largest, functioning Key." (http://www.qsl.net/saara/keyphoto.htm)

We are especially proud of our Club Newsletter – SAARA Speaks. Members stay informed and up-to-date.

Please feel free to stop by for a visit to our web site: http://www.qsl.net/saara/.
