Description:

Greetings - we are the Amateur Radio Club of Shreveport (ARCOS), based in Shreveport, Louisiana. Our Club callsign is N5SHV.

Currently, we operate two 2-meter repeaters:

The 146.67 MHz repeater is located on the KSLA-TV tower (1,150 feet AGL), northwest of Shreveport near Mooringsport, LA. This is a long-range repeater and is available for general amateur use (PL Tone - 186.2 Hz). This repeater is also used for SkyWarn operations, in conjunction with the National Weather Service office in Shreveport, as needed.

Our 146.76 MHz repeater is located at the Louisiana State Fairgrounds, just west of downtown Shreveport along Interstate 20. This repeater also has a PL Tone of 186.2 Hz. The 146.76 MHz machine is part of the Freedom-Link System, a network of VHF / UHF repeaters in the east Texas, northwest Louisiana, and southwest Arkansas areas, all linked by RF full-time. More information about the Freedom Link system may be found at http://www.freedom-link.org.
