Notes from W1AW's Field Day 2007 operation

It's 9 PM Eastern. Who's still here?

Jun 23, 2007 20:57 ET
Joseph P Carcia III, NJ1Q

Joe Speroni, AH0A, a visiting operator.

Here's Joe, AH0A, working the GOTA station on 75 meters!

W1AW W.A.S Map. Just keep repeating, "We still have time, we still have time!!"

So...Solar Flux is at 67. WOW! Well, that might explain why with six hours into Field Day our WAS map is still somewhat anemic!

It could be worse, however! There could be a flare or CME!

Oops! Did I just jinx it??? :-(

73,

Joe, NJ1Q

Jonathan, KB1KIX (first row - center) created the poster with pictures of John, N1BK. Also pictured are the other members of NARL, participating in FD.

The Newington Amateur Radio League (NARL) is active as W1H during Field Day in honor of John Hennessee, N1KB. John passed away unexpectantly on March 2, 2006.

Penny Harts, N1NAG

On Friday, there was a "Pre Field Day" picnic for all of HQ staff. After all, what *is* Field Day without food?

Here we see one of our favorite Receptionists, Penny Harts, N1NAG as she fusses in the food tent located on the North side of W1AW's grounds.
