HAM RADIO 2009 in Friedrichshafen, Germany is June 26-28, 2009. It is billed as Europe's biggest Amateur Radio exhibition held annually in the Lake Constance region. This is the 34th international Amateur Radio exhibition and the 60th year of the Lake Constance Convention of Radio Amateurs, sponsored by the Deutscher Amateur Radio Club (DARC), which gave rise to the Ham Radio fair. As part of the Lake Constance Convention, visitors will experience a variety of programs including 47 lectures and about 20 meetings. Emphasis will be on the 60th anniversary of ham radio meetings on Lake Constance. Dr. Christof Rohner, DL7TZ, Chairman of the Förderverein Amateurfunkmuseum (AFM), will look back on six decades of Amateur Radio history in his lecture. On Saturday, numerous speakers will offer additional reflections on the period. A presentation involving radio operations from the Antarctic will also be on the program.

Each year, a contingent from ARRL has attended HAM RADIO in Friedrichshafen--greeting our non-US members and interacting with other national radio societies. ARRL also supports DXCC card checking at its booth--a very popular activity among the international community that travels to this large show. The ARRL, as International Secretariat for the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU) will also host a meeting area for IARU officials and friends at the convention.

Last year's HAM RADIO had 17,100 visitors from all continents and over 180 exhibitors and associations from 30 countries.
