Field day at Liberty State Park in Jersey City, NJ, with the Cirri Memorial Radio Club of the American Red Cross, Hudson County chapter.
This was our club's first Field Day. Our club's call sign is KC2JTC.
Six meters was open that weekend.... W4DOD was getting amazing DX on that band using a tiny Isotron....
We had some fun making some "non-field day" contacts (for instance, KC2GYN hit a repeater way down in Virginia on two meters, using a huge beam).... The contacts didn't count for Field Day points, but we still enjoyed them....
KC2JHU enjoyed trying out his new ICOM equipment....
We turned the power down on WB2DHK's rig just for fun and made a couple of QRP DX contacts, but didn't claim any points for the QRP....
Next year, we'd like to try using solar panels.... (Maybe for shade if for nothing else....)
Thank you to Liberty State Park for allowing us to hold our Field Day there.... We look forward to working with them in the future.... And thank you to our sponsors, the Hudson County chapter of the American Red Cross....
