    VO1BRK -- Jul 2, 2003 07:26 ET

Part of the VO1BRK crew operating 4A from Carbonear. Members of both BARK and MRCN. Photo: Joe VO1NA, RAC NL SM.

The Baccalieu Amateur Radio Klub (VO1BRK) and the Marconi Radio Club of Newfoundland (VO1MRC) held a joint operation in Carbonear the home town of Maurice, VO1FG, who recently becane a silent key. The clubs decided to collaborate to hold a memorial Field Day in memory of Maurice, whose station was 'on top of the saddle'.

Food (Moose steaks, stew, fish'n'brewis, beans and pork chops) were served up by the skilled radio amateur chefs at the site and many 807's were enjoyed, along with some excellent conversation about radio and Maurice and of course some fine operating at the 4A station in an old house with no electricity or running water!

In the picture are members from both groups at the FD site. Photo: Joe Craig VO1NA, Radio Amateurs of Canada Section Manager, Newfoundland and Labrador Section. -- VO1NA
