Upcoming Contests - Things to Do

Upcoming State QSO Parties

For state QSO party enthusiasts, there are 3 opportunities to participate in the coming weeks: the Colorado QSO Party begins on September 3 at 1300 UTC, and concludes on September 4 at 0400 UTC; the Tennessee QSO Party begins on September 4 at 1800 UTC, and concludes on September 5 at 0300 UTC; and the Alabama QSO Party begins on September 10 at 1500 UTC, and concludes on September 11 at 0300 UTC. More information and rules for each event can be found at their respective web sites, or in the "Contests" section below.

North American Sprint, CW

The North American Sprint is a short, but intense competition that challenges the best operators, while allowing others to sharpen their skills. This 4-hour contest on the 80, 40, and 20-meter bands always keeps participants on their toes. Single Operator is the only entry category, but individual participants can combine their scores up to five operators to create a team score. The sprint is held on September 11 from 0000 UTC to 0400 UTC. Complete rules are available at https://ncjweb.com/Sprint-Rules.pdf.

ARRL September VHF Contest

Of note for VHF contesters is, the 2022 ARRL September VHF Contest, which begins on September 10 at 1800 UTC, and concludes on September 12 at 0259 UTC. The new Analog Only categories that were introduced for Single Operator participants in June will continue with this event, so there are plenty of ways to participate, no matter which modes (CW, SSB, or digital) you choose to operate. Operation is allowed on any amateur frequency from 50 MHz to light. Complete rules are available at www.arrl.org/september-vhf.

Bulletins

Participants in the 2022 IARU HF World Championship should check the Logs Received Page (contests.arrl.org/logsreceived.php) to make sure their call signs appear on the list. A computer system error occurred for several hours on Sunday, July 10, that caused submitted logs to not be saved, even though confirmation emails were sent to participants.

If you submitted a log and it doesn't appear on the Logs Received Page (be sure to select IARU HF World Championship from the dropdown menu), please contact the ARRL Contest Program at contests@arrl.org to ensure that your log will be included in the results.
