Ms Juanita Portz, KK7WA has been a ham for a little over two years and holds an Extra Class license with the 20-WPM code. She is the Treasurer for the Cochise Amateur Radio Association (CARA) in Southern Arizona and has brought an air of enthusiasm to all members of CARA. She has assisted with classes for new Technicians and has held special classes each week for those who are interested in the code. Her enthusiasm on the air and encouragement to new hams makes them want to learn more and participate more in all Amateur Radio activities. She sets an example by her participation in all meetings and on the air nets, and by her support to RACES and MARS, and weekly work parties at the CARA radio facility. Juanita makes Amateur Radio fun for all.

Do you know someone who is especially good at elmering new hams? Please write and let us know what that person does that is "above and beyond".
