Here's to something that nearly all hams have in common at some point during their ham careers. Of course, it's Field Day! Maybe you need something to keep you occupied while you wait your turn at the mike or key? Maybe you got into that poison ivy and have the itch to try your hand at a puzzle? At any rate, here's a collection with an emphasis on our favorite operating event.
Note - I have heard from several folks that would like to do the puzzles in a large-print format. Here's how to make a large-print copy using Microsoft Word®:
To enlarge the puzzle, right-click on the Web page graphic of the puzzle and select "Copy". Open a blank document in Word and paste the graphic onto the page using "Edit/Paste", the Paste button, or CTRL-V. Click once on the puzzle and use the "handle" boxes that appear on the corners of the puzzle to make it as large as the page will allow.
To enlarge the clues, highlight the clue text on the Web page by holding down the left mouse button as you drag the cursor over the text. Press CTRL-C to copy the text. Open a blank document in Word and paste the text onto the page using "Edit/Paste", the Paste button, or CTRL-V. Highlight the pasted text in the same way or use CTRL-A to select all of the text, then use the "Format/Font" window to change the font size. A font size of 20-point is a good starting point. You can also change the font type to a different font in the same way.
Another ham also creates large-print puzzles - visit the National Association for the Visually Handicapped-approved Web site of Dave KD7ZYI, and happy puzzling!
