Whether or not the FCC decides to require CW ability as a gateway to amateur radio, hams will no doubt be using this most venerable of all wireless protocols well into the future. Just because it's not required doesn't mean it's going away - and why should it? CW is fun and useful and one of the biggest bangs for the buck in ham radio! With all that going for it, I'm sure there will be an article some day announcing the third century of CW - de N0AX.
