ARRL Seeks Business Services Advertising Sales Specialist

NEWINGTON, CT, Feb 22, 2007 -- The ARRL invites applications for the position of Business Services Advertising Sales Specialist at League Headquarters in Newington. Amateur Radio background and knowledge are desirable. Candidates should enjoy interacting with customers and must be experienced and proficient in salesmanship and customer service as well as in written and oral communication. This position requires a flexible, accommodating, self-motivated individual with excellent organizational and intrapersonal skills. Applicants must be willing to relocate to Connecticut.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess:

The Business Services Sales Specialist will formulate and maintain a structured, ongoing program to generate qualified advertising leads. He or she will identify qualified sales leads using such techniques as cold calling, e-mail contacts, target and mass mailings and other proven strategies. The incumbent also will formulate a system to report sales leads to the Business Services Manager and to document progress toward pursuing leads, including progress with and feedback from potential clients.

The successful candidate will, as assigned, lead or participate in initiatives to create new revenue sources for ARRL. These may include but are not limited to:

This position requires visiting clients and hamfests -- including overnight travel -- as needed to identify and develop advertising sales opportunities.

The primary goals of this position include:

The normal work schedule is Monday through Friday with occasional overtime and some overnight travel. Compensation will be determined by experience.
