ARRL CTO Brennan Price, N4QX, to Keynote ARRL/TAPR DCC Banquet

08/19/2016

ARRL Chief Technology Officer Brennan Price, N4QX, will be the featured banquet speaker at the 35th annual ARRL/TAPR Digital Communication Conference (DCC) September 16-18 in St Petersburg, Florida. His topic will be “New Frontiers in Wireless: Challenges to and Opportunities for Amateur Radio.”

Price said he’ll be discussing how developments in various fields — including 5G mobile, the “Internet of Things,” and Intelligent Transport Systems — offer opportunities to technically inclined radio amateurs while also presenting spectrum defense challenges. He’ll touch on relevant domestic and international aspects as well.

As ARRL CTO, Price — a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Law — represents the interests of Amateur Radio to numerous governmental and international agencies, including the FCC, NTIA, and ITU. With ARRL’s Technical Relations staff, ARRL’s Washington Team, and IARU volunteers, he formulates Amateur Radio’s strategy for World Radiocommunication Conferences.
