The ARRL Antenna Book Chapter 1

Table A on page 1-20 of the 19th Edition of The ARRL Antenna Book unfortunately got "squished." The correct table is shown here. (7,526 bytes, PDF file)

For the printed book and the CD-ROM Version 2.0

  • A programming error crept into one of the 539 elevation statistics files used with the YT program. Attached is a new W4-GA-EU.PRN file.
  • The instructions for the companion utility software are included in the Adobe Reader file "AB19Software.PDF" (198,151 bytes).

We've found that there is a possible glitch when installing the software for the 19th Edition of The ARRL Antenna Book. If you elect to use the default subdirectory system you will have no problems.

However, if you specify your own main subdirectory in which to install the software at the start of the installation, and if you imbed any spaces in that subdirectory name, you will find that the "shortcuts" to various subdirectories will be truncated to a DOS-style 8-character name that Windows subsequently will not recognize because any such imbedded spaces will be removed.

You can repair each shortcut after the installation by right-clicking on the icon for each program you want, and then selecting "Properties." Next, type in the specific "Target" subdirectory and "StartIn" subdirectory paths.
