An introductory course designed for Amateur Radio volunteers who want to serve as part of an ARES® response team. Please note: this book is the course transcript for the new Introduction to Emergency Communication Course (EC-001) and is an optional resource.
When you have completed the course and the two DHS/FEMA prerequisites, if you would like to earn a course completion certificate from ARRL, you'll need to take the 35 question final exam. You can locate a Field Exam Session or Field Examiner on the ARRL website. A $15 exam fee and passing score of 80% is required.
Enroll in ARRL’s Introduction to Emergency Communication Online Course! Course start dates, registration deadlines, cost and more information is available at www.arrl.org/online-courses.
