                        RADIOSKY.ZIP

This zip file contains AZEL.BAS, AZEL.EXE and R7100.BAS. The
programs with .BAS extensions are source files. They must be
loaded into a BASIC interpreter in order to run. I have
tested them with Microsoft's QBASIC (supplied with DOS since
version 4.0) and Quick BASIC. They may also work with
GWBASIC or other BASIC interpreters, but I have not tested
them.

AZEL.EXE is a stand-alone sky-coordinate conversion program
compiled from AZEL.BAS. It converts between the
right-ascension (RA) and declination (dec) coordinates used
by astronomers and the local azimuth and elevation
coordinates used by Amateur Radio operators. To use
AZEL.EXE, simply get to a DOS prompt, change to the
directory containing AZEL.EXE, type "AZEL" and press the
Return or Enter key. AZEL requests the information needed
from you.

R7100 is a simple program to take information from an ICOM
R-7100 receiver with an Optoelectronics CX12 or an ICOM
CT-17 computer interface. R7100 was not compiled because the
user must set the communication baud rate in line 100.

See "The Radio Sky," by Darrel Emerson in June and July 1996
QST magazine for more information about these programs. QST
is published by the American Radio Relay League.
