                        ADDITIONS TO VESTER_J

Additions to Revision J of the K3BC SSTV system are included
in VESTJADD.ZIP for the period from Rev. J to Rev. K. They in-
clude only the files that are changed, so you can update with
a minimum download. The first change is to correct an error
in J. We inadvertently included a very old version of TVINFO.TXT
while compiling the revision. The correct TVINFO.TXT is here.
The LVT.BAS program had a typographical error in line 445 which
entered the wrong mode number for 640x480x256 in video card
choice 4 (Paradise). Also, a few SYS CONFIG choices for RT.BAS
were changed to make it easier to get going initially.

It is convenient while discussing a just received pix to be able
to quick-save a picture you like without exiting it. This has
been added to RT. You just key F4 and the picture as scrolled at
the time will be saved under the name Q-xxxxx where xxxxx is the
number of seconds since midnight. The storage path is specified
in RT's SYS CONFIG in line 3280. TSS can be used at a later time
using "Q-" as a file constraint to view, scroll, and save perma-
nently those you choose. Then use C:\TMP>del q-*.* to dump the
temporary files. Also, while discussing a received pix, it often
is convenient to start locating one of your pix's in TVT's multi-
page album without dumping the received picture. This becomes
particularly useful when you have many pix's to choose from and
need time to survey them. To accommodate this, we added a dual
screen to TVT with the received pix in the upper left, album
pix's below, and the transmit pix to the right. You exit the re-
ceived pix using F9 instead of Q when you want to transmit the
next picture, and the dual screen appears. You can then find an
album picture, select it, then key in mode you want to transmit
in and the pix repaints in the chosen mode. As before, you hit
G to transmit. If you have large numbers of files, as I do, and
need to do a File name Constraint, that step can be added back
in line 2110 of TVT's SYS CONFIG. Once you add back the one con-
straint question (which will normally be defaulted), you can now
access the billboard header (answer "bb") or even the different
file Path (answer "pt") in the very few cases you want to. You
also have the option of selecting the received picture (key F3)
to transmit and can then choose what mode to retransmit in. The
F3 choice on last received pix can be made until overwrite. You
must use same DR$ for both RT and TVT so TVT can find A.P. The
new transmit selection picture, TX1.S1, can be remade into any
thing you care to create with your Paint program. New files for
        these are TVT.BAS, TRUSHOE.ASM, RT.BAS, SAVEPIX.ASM, and TX1.S1.
Other minor unrelated changes were made to WXP.BAS, VWXP.BAS,
        and TIFCONV.BAS.

                                                Have fun,
                                                Ben Vester, K3BC
