I'm considering a DVAP, but it will be in close proximity (perhaps 3-5 feet) with my wireless router (Apple Airport Extreme). The DVAP only puts out 10mW, but I'd like to minimize the chances of interference.

Are there advantages/disadvantages to either band (DVAP is available on both 2m and 70cm) in terms of RFI to Wifi?

Thanks and 73,

Glenn

WiFi is 2.4 GHz or higher. I'd be amazed if there was any interaction at all with low power 2M or 70CM operation -- assuming the signals meet FCC purity specs. I've never seen any with my non-DVAP VHF (50W) operations. Your HT is more likely to cause troubles than the DVAP.

Thanks Martin. I'll probably go with the 70cm version, but figured I'd see if anybody knew if one was more susceptible to causing RFI with Wifi than the other.

Update - It's been about two years now. I've been running the 70 cm DVAP within 5 feet of both a Verizon Fios cable modem and an Apple AirPort Extreme and have seen no problems whatsoever.
