I was given a 300 foot roll of coax cable but I do not recognize it. I was told it is 50 ohm cable.

Does anybody recognize it, know what the specs are or where I might find out?

It is a medium blue color and is marked DEC P/N 1700248-01 SIGNAL COAX ASPO 12 AWG (UL) CL2.

DEC is the old Digital Equipment Corp. which supplied so-called 10base5 Ethernet for its computer systems in the 1980s. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethernet#/media/File:10Base5transcievers.jpg . The coax was a nominal 50 ohms, similar to RG-8 or RG-213. You would tap into it with a "vampire" connector that clamped on the outside of the cable and inserted a pin through to the inner conductor to make a connection. It ran at a whopping 10 Mbits/sec. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethernet for more details.

It should be reasonably good for HF radio applications, I'd think. It was used for its for low loss, rather than high power, but I'd expect it to handle amateur power levels OK.

There is more info in a discussion at eham: http://www.eham.net/ehamforum/smf/index.php?topic=36140.0.
