07/22/2018Historic aviation achievements, legendary pilots, and groundbreaking aviation innovations will all be featured at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2017, on July 24-30 at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The events create a weeklong series of highlights for the 65th annual Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) fly-in convention. The fly-in annually draws an attendance of more than 500,000 people and 10,000 airplanes. Anticipated attendance is expected to be over 500,000, with visitors registered from 69 nations. The event will attract approximately 10,000 aircraft, 2,000 show planes, and media representatives from five continents. During the fly-in, the airport's control tower is the busiest in the world. The W9W special event station will operate from the EAA Warbirds of America area at Wittman Airport. Warbird Aircraft such as the T-6, T-28, T-34, Aero Vodochody L-39, MiG 17, Spitfire, Grumman F6F Hellcat, P-51 Mustang, and hundreds more will be in the Warbirds area. Many of those aircraft will fly in the daily airshow.
