Description:

The Catawba Valley Amateur Radio Society (CVARS) was formed in 2019 to have a ham radio club for amateur radio operators throughout the Catawba Valley & surrounding areas.  Our callsign is W4CVR.  The purpose of our club promote the hobby of  Amateur Radio and good fellowship among operators, building community relations, and assisting with emergency communications as-needed.

We host 2 Nets every Thursday evening.  The first one is our DMR net @ 7:15pm Thursdays on a linked BrandMeister & TGIF DMR talkgroup 31678 and bridged with D-STAR Reflector XLX913H, which anybody anywhere is welcome to check-in being it's on DMR.  The second one is right after our DMR Net @ 7:30pm Thursdays on the WA4PXV repeater in Hickory, frequency is 146.850 MHz (-.600 offset and no tone).  To learn more about our club and our nets, please visit our Facebook page by searching for W4CVR or by going to our website listed below.

We host test sessions on the first Saturday each month.  You can check our testing dates out here on the ARRL website or you can go to our website www.W4CVR.org/testing for info.
