Description:: Providence Emergency Management Agency Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (PEMA RACES) is the volunteer amateur radio component of PEMA. RACES is an emergency radio service authorized in Part 97.407 of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rules and regulations governing amateur radio in the United States.

PEMA RACES holds an amateur radio NET every Sunday at 1900 on the 146.70 repeater. In accordance with Part 97.407 regulations, a "formal" net is held for RACES members only, followed by an informal net when any licensed amateur is welcome to join. All are welcome to join us during the informal net.
