I have a unused wooden telephone pole on my property that is about 120 foot tall. There is a wire running up the side of the pole to the top.
Could I use that wire as a long wire antenna fed with an antenna tunner? What sort of pattern could I expect?

Typically you don't want to go above 5/8 of a wavelength, as you get undesirable high angle lobes on the higher bands that are pretty much useless. This is 43 feet on 20 meters.
