I just bought a yeasu hf dx 3000 radio. Because it is dc powered does it need to be grounded, I also bought the ac power unit to power the radio. It has a 3 prong plug. Does it need to be grounded also. My radio is located on a 2nd story bedroom.

The three prong plug provides sufficient safety grounding if the antenna is indoors. But, an outside antenna needs to be grounded to meet the National Electrical Code. Section 810 covers amateur radio.
