| Utilizing the mast was something I questioned because I know little about the way a dipole operates/radiates. I didn't know if it would cause trouble either with the Antron vertical or the dipole. Neither would be used at the same time as the other, I was more worried about radiation patterns and SWR. Thoughts? |

| Thank you for the reply. I'm recently retired and decided to get away from the 2m/70cm repeater life and make the jump into HF so this is all new to me. I figured I could buy an entry level/reasonably priced multi band antenna to cover 6m to at about 40m to take advantage of this IC-7300 and find my niche in HF before buying higher end specific band antennas. | ||

| Taking my USA General License exam in a month. I just bought an Icom 7300 and in the dark about what antenna to buy. I drew pictures of my property and situation but this forum will not let me post them for this initial post. I have an A-99 10M-12M on a chimney mount at the moment. I was looking at a windom or end fed di-pole. 6-40M would be a great all around for me to fine tune what bands interest me the most. I've seen windom and end fed dipoles in the same price range that advertise up to 6M-160M! I live in a semi-urban area with a property dimension of 175' x 25' (53.3m x 7.6m). |
