2019 ARRL January VHF Contest
Got antennas on truck a day early ahead of snow. Saturday fore noon noticed one front tire was so low on air I could not drive to pump it up. Called tow truck, he pumped it up and drove it to their shop for repair. Mechanic came into waiting room and said "We got some trouble with your antennas but I think we can fix it with J B Weld and some hose clamps" Apparently their overhead door didn't go all the way up and they skinned off the top two antennas.
I was able to put a splint on the 9 ft WA5VJB Cheap Yagi for 144.2 Mhz and limp along. Made 88 contacts and drove 350 miles to activate five grids. Got reports that my signals were down from usuall, is it any wonder. Another January contest Challange,
