The North Shore Radio Club once again held its Field Day exercise at the Grove Cultural Center property in Lake Forest, IL. We ran 3A with one phone station and two CW stations. Each mode had single band dipoles for 80, 40 and 20. The 40 meter antennas alao doubled as a 15 meter antennas on Sunday morning. When things began at 1800z on Saturday afternoon, conditions were simply awful! Fortunately they improved quite a bit later on that evening and remained pretty good through Sunday. Severe thunderstorms were forecast throughout Saturday evening and into Sunday, but other than a couple showers, we got lucky and nothing bad appeared. We also had a GOTA station under the call K9SS which seemed to get a fair amount of use. This is a popular event for our club and everyone is looking forward to next year.
