2020 ARRL Straight Key Night
Yet another SKN has come and gone, and the smell of warmed mildew and beeswax continues to permeate the shack. In addition to the traditional PRC-1 spy radio set, the Collins 32V3, 75A3, and a replica 1929 TNT transmitter excited the ether. The breadboard TNT was designed by George Grammer, and it appeared in the December,1929 QST. It utilized a single 210 tube and put out one lonely watt. Kudos to those who endured the frequency instability and chirpy note along with the keying of a Titanic replica key.
As in years past, it was great to renew old acquaintances and meet some new friends as well. Several contacts went for an hour or more proving that Morse remains an art form. Keep pounding the brass throughout the year, and here's hoping we meet again next year. Cheers.
