After thinking about it, this was only my third June Contest really going for it as a rover. Sure, I know that when I’m in it, I probably don’t have the slightest shot at winning, but I go out to have fun. I attempted to participate in 2015, and 2016 – 2015 I didn’t even submit a log, and in 2016 I barely had functioning antennas, so when someone asks when I started roving, I’ll say 2017. I don’t think there’s any other way to say this than this was just a good contest. The band conditions were right, equipment was fully functioning for the entire duration of the contest, that being said I did have one malfunctioning jumper to my antenna switch, but that wasn’t the end of the world.  I had grand plans of operating out of more than four grids, but due to some last minute setup issues, I opted to just stay local.
