FD 2020, the year of social distancing, is in the books for W9ZL, the Fox Cities ARC in Appleton, WI. We took some precautions, but still ran 2A from our our usual spot. We had one operator for the CW station and the second station ran SSB, FT8 and RTTY split between 2 set ups. Had some issues with the hydraulics in the hamvan (former TV remote truck), but when the 40 mtr rotatable dipole was finally raised to to 50 feet, it performed extremely well. We had a pretty good stretch on 40 mtrs Saturday nite where we were averaging over a 100 Q’s/hour. We found it also performed well on 15 mtrs on Sunday morning as it opened. Also, a VHF and Satellite stations for some bonus points. A few snafus, less than half the participation of normal at the site, but still a good time. And good pizza this time!
