2002 ARRL September VHF Contest

09/20/2002 | KA6AMD The contest started out well with good weather and strong signals from all over Southern California. Then the propagation to distant grids didn't materialize. Then on Sunday, the wind started picking up. Pretty soon it was overspeeding the wind generator. I was blown off the hilltop, with winds over 50 MPH. I had to take down the antennas 3 hours before the contest ended to keep them from being blown over. Despite that, I had one of my better contests. -- KA6AMD
