2021 ARRL Field Day
It is good to be back after COVID-19 restrictions!!
After doing a somewhat watered down Field Day 2020, PCARS was back this year, in full force for 2021.
We were truly blessed with very little rain, which we usaully see a lot this time of year in Florida on summer afternoons, but the heat made up for it. We made sure that plenty of water, etc. was available & everyone stayed hydrated .
The club operated as a 2F entry, complete with CW/SSB/6 Meters/Satellite & GOTA Stations. The bands weren't terribly bad, as we had more equipment problems that band issues. But once we got past the issues, things really took off. 15 Meters opened up good this afternoon, as well as some activity on 10 Meters.
We cooked up hot dogs on the grill on Sautday for lunch & had a pizza dinner for the evening operating Saturday. This was a 1st for lunch, as we had not done this in years.
In the evening during pizza, Mickey Baker, N4MB, ARRL Southeast Division Director, paid a vist to our site, on his way back south. It was good to see Mickey & the members there enjoyed his visit.
All in all, everyone had a great time & as always, a list of things to do next year, comes out. We will start on the list sometime before next Field Day.
Looking forward to Field Day 2022!!
