11/04/2002 | K7FU It was another great event and even the solar conditions held out for the most part. I went into this contest with 2 goals in mind.
1. Beat last years score and get to 100,000 points
2. Clean Sweep

I can now pat myself on the back for a job well done. My claimed score is 100,800 points and I managed the clean sweep. The hardest part was the sweep. Conditions toward VY1 and VO1 were not very good here on the west coast as mentioned in another soapbox posting. Last year Jay VY1 was 20 0ver on ten and a piece of cake. Not this year. He was running about S3 on my 290 foot V Beam up 60 feet. I was lucky enough to break the large pile of stations trying for him, and in doing so completed my sweep. My station consists of my Mark V and the Vee Beam. I enjoyed the contest very much, even though the flu bug had hit me hard. You cannot tell I was all stuffed up on CW! Some day I will operate from a 1st class contest site and see what I can really do. 73 and thanks for another fine contest.
