11/18/2002 | KQ9L Well, I had a BLAST!! This was my first Sweepstakes, worked 187 QSO and nearly a sweep! I must say that I was very impressed with all the hams who took the extra time to welcome me to the HAM community when they heard my 02 check. Overall I believe that contesting suits me just fine. I know that some folks belly ache at the thought of the band being overrun during contests, but, as a new ham I understand the potential benefits of being able to work a station under adverse conditions. Frankly I think that I am a better operator by practicing during a contest! Well hope to meet you all during the next contest! 73 Rich -- KQ9L
