11/19/2002 | KB3ING Being a new ham, and only having a 10 meter rig for HF, I haven't had much of a chance to operate on HF. I decided to turn my 10 meter rig on Sunday, and noticed some activity. After listening for a few minutes, I decided to jump in and participate a little. I made 5 contacts: 1 Virgin Islands, 2 Colorado, 2 Utah. This was my first experience with HF, and my first participation in any contest. I didn't rack up many contacts, but I did have fun getting a few. I think I will give 10 meters a try again next month for the 10 meter contest.
