12/16/2002 | K5JAZ Although I am not a contester, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I worked low power SSB with my little K2-100. For antennas I used a 135' end-fed wire and a Gap Titan, scraping out 27 states and 89 DX contacts using only hunt/pounce. I managed seven hours each day and would have gone longer had my voice not given out.

The courtesy I observed during this contast deserves mention. I heard many contesters ask if the frequency was clear before staking out a frequency -- and when the freq was in use they moved. I thought that remarkable during such a hectic contest.
