12/17/2002 | AB2IW What a fun contest... Were band conditions better or worse than in the 2001 contest ? Hard to tell. Some interesting DX... working rare stations in the single op qrp phone category. Made a contact while transmitting into the wrong antenna... a 350' beverage @ 10 ' with a johnson matchbox doing the tuning honors. Wondered why South America was down on Sunday...
well... 450 ohm feedline fell off of the 140' dipole facing that direction. Johnson kw matchboxes will tune practically anything...
Thanks to all who pulled my 5 watt signal out of the noise for much needed multipliers and listening for the "little guys".
