2002 ARRL 10 Meter Contest

12/18/2002 | KB1FWN This contest was a learning experience for those at KB1FWN/KB1FWM. It started off as a grueling multi operator event. I started off first, with reassurance that my father Tom, KB1FWM, would take my place in a few hours. And to relieve him would be Luke, KB1ISP even later. However, a few hours prior to the contest, I learned that Luke would not be coming up. Then, a few hours further in, my father went to bed. That dashed my plans! So I sat there, a lone single operator, all night long at the ten meter station. On Sunday, dad stopped in and made some QSO's, but then had to leave (for him, it was a Honey-Do weekend). All in all, I called it a multiop because he DID make a few Q's, and I had been giving the exchange all along.

Oh well, it worked out okay! The rig worked, the antennas worked, and there was plenty of DX. Good luck next year, and see you all down the bands! 73' -- KB1FWN
