2002 ARRL 10 Meter Contest

12/31/2002 | WA2FHF My XYL (KF6NBZ), two cats (Boojum and Snark) and I are currently touring
the United States in our *classic* 1976 Bluebird Wanderlodge motorhome.
Because of a mechanical breakdown that delayed us several days, we did not
arrive in South Carolina until Saturday afternoon, well into the Contest
period.

Since I had not yet operated on 10m during this trip, the first order of
business was to construct an antenna. Quickly cut an inverted vee dipole
and raised the 15 foot mast on the top of the coach. Got the station
assembled, contesting software initialized, and away we went!

A casual operating style and lower performance antenna array produced only
a moderate score. However, I am always thrilled by the potential of 10
meters to yield spectacular propagation and DX for even more humble
stations.

Currently we are over-wintering in Central Florida - see you down the log!
