2002 ARRL 10 Meter Contest
After moving to a new QTH in September, I was still working on the room that would become the permanent shack. At the last minute, I decided to throw together a temporary shack on the computer desk to work the 10-meter contest. At the very last minute, I also put up my 10-meter vertical to give me a little better signal. Fortunately, Murphy must have been busy elsewhere (messing with someone's Yagi, no doubt) and everything worked fine.
The shack: All Vintage, all the time!
Drake C-line 'twins', about 80 watts out;
IBM PS/2 Server 95 + IBM 6091-19i monitor, Windows NT and N3FJP logging software;
Hy-Gain 'Penetrator' 5/8-wave CB vertical shortened a bit for 10.
Even the coax was old stuff!
42 Countries, 31 states, 7 Canadian provinces, 383 contacts with 80 total multipliers.
I'm looking forward to next year, when (hopefully) the QTH will have grown some more aluminum!
