The ARRL 10M contest is among my favorites on the calendar. Although propagation at this latitude is rarely good at contest start, it's always a thrill to wake up early Saturday and Sunday morning and hear all that DX while the sun is low in the Eastern sky. Historically, all I've ever done is hunt and pounce. This year, however, I actually CQ-d more than in the past. With results just about equal to the last few years, even though I had less time to devote to the test:: 253 Qs, only 205 of which were not in California. No New England, whatsoever. I guess they were all up in the phone sub-band. Maybe they've forgotten that "pounding brass still
