For most of the contest, I operated from a weekend campout with Boy Scout Troop 407 using battery power and a dipole strung between two trees. It was the first exposure to ham radio for most of the Scouts, and the youth and adults alike were fascinated by some of the places we worked. Jon, KC8RYW, an Eagle Scout from the troop, took the mike for a few QSOs. -- WB8AEV
