02/18/2003 | N4NR I just completed my new Elecraft K1 kit a few weeks ago, so this was a good chance to test it out. I had a great time!

All contacts were made using 5 watts, battery supply, and a single wire antenna ... a 20 meter extended double zepp up about 35 feet ... In about 7 hours total operating time I snagged 102 country multipliers out of 155 contacts. I was especially surprised how well the 5 watts did on 40 meter pileups...
