A fun time was had by all. We were open for business for the
full 48 hour period except for one 3 hours period where most
rested. The bands were not as active as last years contest. The
lower score shows. We did not participate on the 160mtr band
last year, but did this year. That was a challenge with 100 watts
and a dipole, but 6 contacts was better than no contacts. Kendall
ARS sponsored the event and supplied most of the food/drinks. Some
Operators and the Support Group folks brought some homemade covered
dishes. Um-good !!! The local name for our entry into this contest
is called "The Gaines Garner DX-pedition." Gaines is a SK and a
former member of Kendall ARS Boerne Texas. Our clubs original entry
into this contest was organized by Gaines and was held in Big Bend
National Park-South West Texas about 7 years ago.
Hope to CU all during the contest for 2004.
