01/25/2003 | N3AWS First time Rover operation.

Due to miscommunication, we ended up inviting my daughter's school friend along for the weekend. Two adults, three kids, and a dog meant no room for setting up my Icom 706 MkIIG.

I was limited to 2 meter FM with my Realistic HTX-202. Despite calling "CQ Contest" over and over on 146.55 and other simplex frequencies, I made zero contacts from EM90, EL99, and EL98.

The photo shows our camping site at Patrick AFB in EL98. We are parked in front of the tower, but it most definitely IS NOT my antenna system!
