An Elmer once told me "if you have a dollar to spend on your station and don't know what to buy with it, you'll get the most bang for your buck if you buy antennas. I took his advice. Been slowly upgrading the antennas and getting some real feedline. Things are still too low, nothing is above 60 feet. No knock at the door this time, (see Jan 2003 soapbox for details) even with Doug-N3JXB the TVI king firmly entrenched at the 6 meter station with his Quadra, and no adult supervision at times. Worked a few new grids on 222 and 432 so that work is paying off, with more to come. Had 2 new op's here this time, Lou-AB2OO, who looked like he was a bit overwhelmed as it was his first contest experience. It was either that or my neighbor threatening him with a golf club for turning in the wrong driveway, and Hoagie-KB3IDU. Kent-WA3IEM was back and made some good contacts on 432. Bill-N3OJ was a little intimidated when 6 was open but he definitely has contesting potential. Joe-NM3N helped with setup and teardown, and even made some good qso's. And of course, last but not least Wilby-W1LBY, who's constant barrage of wit and wisdom, kept us all in stitches all weekend long. Thanks guys, and thanks everyone who took the time to listen for little ol'us between the big guns. We'll work you in September.....73 Dave -- N3JFM
