KQ6EE in Califoria: I did the ROVER this time because my wife liked to get away from the house. So I packed all my gears: dual band beam antenna, ft-100, ICOM 4 bander handheld and one car battery. I put the band beam, 220, 6m, 2m vertical on the top of my Ford Explorer, and drove to Palomar Mountain in San Diego. On the way to San Diego, people stare at my antenna farm Explorer. People are curious what these guys are doing. My wife enjoyed visiting Palomar Observatory, and I enjoyed the ham contest. I did not do much on contest on Saturday. I only did no more than 20 contests in San Diego County and part of Orange County. Sometime, we have to spend time with family. On Sunday, I went up to San Gabriel Peak which is near Mountain Wilson at the top of Pasadena. I had the ball at San Gabriel Peak which us 6000+ feet above sea level. I had most of the contests on San Gabriel Peak. I had a lot of luck at San Gabriel Peak and Mt. Disappointment. I don't think I will be the top ten or not even top 100!!!!! on Rover HA HA. That is why I like to do QRP when vhf and uhf contests. I have fun on every vhf and uhf contests. GO HIKING AND PLAY WITH HAM RADIO AT THE PEAK. 73 , MEET YOU AT NEXT CONTEST (SEPT CONTEST). -- KQ6EE
