2003 ARRL Field Day
Band conditions were poor, but we still managed to best our 2003 score with well over 4-K QSOs. We had seven elements at 100 feet on six, yet the magic band was stubborn. We still managed well over a hundred VHF Qs.
Jim AA4MD fielded two ao-40 stations, using dishes and patch feeds. He worked scores of Japanese, Europeans and ran over 150 Satelite contacts.
Raw SSB shows 2000+ contacts, CW over 1300.
Our close relationship with local emergency managers not only yielded us the aforementioned 100 foot crank over tower, but also a 30 foot tower trailer from ares-races, and a county fire rescue mobile command post. Members contributed the remaing rvs and pop up trailers.
We had local TV coverage, and visits from local elected offials and emergency managers.
In fact, Hillsborough County's Emergency Chief, Larry KR4X was our graveyard shift CW operator!
Thanks to all of you for working N4TP and our GOTA station N4SEX.
73 and see you next year
