I read a post to Qrp-L from NA5N , Paul Harden about expected band condx and decided to just use 20 CW. Starting at 6 pm local Fri night, I made a 20 meter dipole with balun and got a supply of quarter inch nylon rope. Sat A.M., up it went into the tallest trees readily accessable. I got it up a good 40 feet and level. Band conditions weren't too miserable. I worked the Califronia stations and the East coast according to my log. Pretty much what can be expected for a dipole running North/South. I was able to complete 47 qrp qso's. I had a really great time and for the first time ever I did the paperwork and sent my log and dupe sheet and summary report to Newington. -- KA9TXE
