2003 ARRL Field Day

07/03/2003 | W0IVJ Hayes, WA0ZBL, and Tom, W0IVJ, did field day this year at Tom's sister's horse ranch near Guthrie, OK. We erected two 44 foot masts and put up two switchable dipoles for 10 through 80 meters. The dipoles were oriented toward the populated northeast and California / Florida areas. Band conditions dictated most of our contacts being made on 40, 20, and 15 giving us a total of 422 QSOs in the 150 watt, 2B class. The weather was good, and we may have sparked some radio interest in Zac, Tom's great nephew. We are already making plans for next year. -- W0IVJ
