07/04/2003 | KP4ES We are proud to be the first EOC activated as a Category F Field Day station from Puerto Rico. Early Saturday we moved to the AEME (State Agency for Emergency Management) facilities in Gurabo, PR to operate from the Academia de las Americas (training facilities for the Civil Defense personnel in Central America and the Caribbean).We operated during the whole FD from these facilities. All bands and modes were used. During the early part of the day before the FD we had the opportunity to learn about different wire antennas. NP4A installed a Delta Loop for /4080 mts. at the top of an existing CD tower in the facilities. Participants included WP4AOH, KP4RAT, NP4TY, NP3OD, WP3GW, WP3ME, WP4LXE, NP4A, KP4PQ (our SM), KP4NNC, KP4ED, WP3JA, KP4IA and KP4U.Visit: < http://www.prarl.org/actividades.html >
